Who can enroll?

Only students who pass the Freshmen Admission Test (FAT) are admitted to the University of Baguio Science High School. The test is given every first Saturday of February and other dates scheduled. The student's FAT score is the basis of his scholarship staus as an incoming freshman.

What are the entrance requirements?

Who cannot enroll?

The following students are ineligible for admission:

1. Transferees

2. Those who have three or more failing grades (applicable only to current enrollees, prospective grade school graduates with failing grades will still be accepted as long as they pass the FAT). A student who failed one or two subjects must pass the comprehensive examination given by the subject teacher scheduled on the first Friday of May of the current school year. In case he fails the comprehensive examination, he will be required to sign a contract and has to comply with the conditions therein.

3. Those who were on probationary status for any of the previous school years and have not lived up to what were stipulated in the signed contract.

4. Those who were previously excluded from the school.

Why no transferees?

Up to the early 1990s, the Science High has been accepting students to enter in any year level. We now believe that becoming a Science High student not only entails the acceptance into the school but also the experience of social and character growth until graduation. This can only be achieved by fully immersing the students in the culture and tradition of the school from the first year to the last.
